Digitalization is increasingly affecting all areas of work. Topics such as the digital office, the digital company, digital business models and value chains, digital services, the use of 3D printers, robots, automation and process control, digital assistance systems, driverless cars, logistics drones, cyber-physical systems, crowd- and click-working, big data, Industry 4.0, and much more are on everyone’s lips. The expanded use of information and communication technology at the operational level, like many business decisions, is subject to considerations and justification. As an investment, the digitalization of work is also subject to constraints of profitability, measurability, cost-saving, and productivity potential. It is important for works councils to ensure that there are no negative impacts on the workforce, for example, through changes in work organization. <\/p>\n

Together, we develop regulations for the introduction, application, and use of “technical equipment” and the associated employee data collection, processing, and use. This also includes requirements analyses for modified activities\/prospective risk assessments. We support works councils and staff councils in requesting and evaluating the appropriate documents to review systems for data protection compliance and the possibilities for performance and behavior monitoring in accordance with Section 87 Paragraph 1 No. 6 of the Works Constitution Act (WCA). We also offer support in developing works agreements, process agreements, and framework agreements. <\/p>\n
